These are the terms and conditions (“Terms”) that apply when you commission Bottlebee to remodel your existing jewellery.  Full Terms can be found here

Please read these Terms carefully.  By placing an order with Bottlebee via www.bottlebee.co.uk, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms, and confirm that you are at least 18 years old.  If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not commission any products from Bottlebee.

JEWELLERY

Jewellery can be sent to Bottlebee, PO Box 70486, London, W7 9EE, and must be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery and insured to the correct value.

If your jewellery does not have a hallmark from one of the UK Assay Offices, it can not be guaranteed to be silver or gold until it has been tested. Many pieces claim to be silver or gold but it may be plated over a base metal.  A .925 stamp on silver does not constitute a hallmark.  Please see the Hallmark page for more information.  I will confirm the metal and weight with you before starting and you will have the option to cancel your order and have the jewellery returned to you.  The return will be at your cost (via Royal Mail Special Delivery)

Most jewellery, especially chains contain solder (which is what joins the ends of a ring or chain links) so when melted, this will slightly reduce the finesse of the metal.  Fresh metal (called grain) can be added to bring it up to the correct purity.  If you don’t want grain added to your piece, the final piece may be a lower purity (for example it may be 90% silver rather than sterling silver which is 92.5% silver).  This isn’t a problem if your piece doesn’t require a hallmark, however if it does need a hallmark, fresh grain must be added.  If grain is added, an additional cost will be incurred, but this will be discussed before any work commences.

When metal is melted there may be a slight weight reduction.  Items such as clasps usually contain steel so they won’t be melted.

You understand that remodelling existing jewellery is labour intensive and won’t be cheaper than the same piece being made from fresh metal.

PAYMENT

Full payment must be made before your commission is started.  This is processed via Wix payments and Bottlebee will not receive any financial information for you.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Cancellations are accepted at any point before your jewellery is melted.  It will be returned to you at your cost.

Remodelled jewellery will not be eligible for a refund.

English law governs these Terms.
